Homemade Tomato Pasta Sauce
This clean eating recipe for tomato pasta sauce is delicious served with hot spaghetti and a handful of fresh, torn basil. Unlike most commercial tomato sauces this one is sugar-free and contains no preservatives or additives.
- Gently fry the onions and crushed garlic cloves over a low heat for 10 minutes.
- Add the dried herbs, salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar and stir well.
- Stir in the passata and tinned tomatoes, and simmer, uncovered for 40 minutes.
You can double this recipe up and freeze it in batches for future use. You can also substitute the dried herbs for an equal volume of whatever you have in the cupboard.
