Turmeric Smoothie with Fresh Ginger
This dairy-free, clean-eating turmeric smoothie is creamy, fresh and vibrantly flavoured. Made with bananas, fresh lemon and fresh ginger, this healthy recipe allows you to take advantage of turmeric’s numerous health benefits, including its potent anti-cancer properties.
- Make a turmeric paste by mixing the turmeric powder with melted coconut oil in a small bowl. Set to one side.
- Add the almond milk to your blender, along with the banana, fresh ginger, fresh lemon juice and black pepper.
- Add the turmeric paste into your blender then blend on high until there are no lumps left in the smoothie.
- If desired, pass the smoothie through a sieve to remove the fibrous strands of ginger.
Note, turmeric can stain quite badly. Rinse out your blender jug as soon as you’ve poured out your smoothie, and try to use glass bowls and cups if possible. Avoid white porcelain and white plastic containers and cups.
